院長的話

This year is a fruitful year of HKIMM (香港肌骼醫學研究中心). The International Federation for Manual/Musculoskeletal Medicine, at her General Assembly 2011 on 13 October 2011 in Prague, formally admitted HKIMM as her member society. This is not only a recognition of our efforts in promotion of musculoskeltal medicine in this region, but also a recognition of our standard at the international front. The first certificate course of practical musculoskeletal medicine (CPMM) was launched in September, 2010. The first batch of candidates is going to complete the six modules and the certificate will be presented at the coming Conferment ceremony. Apart from CPMM, HKIMM continues to hold various education lectures and training workshops. We had invited international expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound, Dr. Tomas B. Clark to provide hands-on training. We are also delighted to have international experts from the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine (AAOM) to deliver Keynote Lecture and conduct hands-on workshops on manual medicine and regenerative injection therapy (RIT) techniques. This year is also a challenging year for HKIMM. The first fellowship examination was held. Six members had passed the examination and admitted as fellows. The Challenge is to path training of second tier of fellows. In addition, after provision of various hand skills workshop, the Institute shall undertake to maintain and assure the standard of practice of musculoskeletal medicine. Another challenge lies on promotion of clinical research. We believe research will sharpen our vision and maintain upkeep the momentum of continuing education. In the coming year, we shall start out second certificate course of practical musculoskeletal medicine (CPMM). We shall continue to cooperate with sister institutes to run practical workshops locally as well as overseas.
